Recognizing Our Talented, Dedicated Nursing Assistants
Nursing assistants are the backbone of EveryStep Hospice, providing hands-on care and compassion to our patients across the state.
EveryStep is proud to recognize our 39 hospice-certified nursing assistants and aides this National Nursing Assistant Week, June 13 to 20.
A core part of the EveryStep Hospice team, aides and nursing assistants provide patients and their families with the care and support the need as they near end-of-life.
From focusing on the patient's medical needs, like helping them bathe or reminding them to take medication; to supporting patients' families by doing light housekeeping or providing a reassuring, comforting presence, EveryStep nursing assistants and aides are dedicated to providing the best care possible.
"Without the dedicated care of our nursing assistants and aides, EveryStep would never be able to provide the level of care to patients and their families we strive for," Tray Wade, president and CEO of EveryStep said. "Each day, these caregivers go into the field prepared to deliver compassionate care to our patients, no matter their situation."
While it's important to highlight the wonderful, sometimes difficult, job our nursing assistants and aides do during National Nursing Assistants Week, EveryStep has taken steps to ensure they feel appreciated every day.
Earlier this year, EveryStep announced the implementation of a $15/hour minimum wage for employees.
The change increased wages as much as nearly $4/hour for some employees, and impacted 14 types of roles within the EveryStep organization. In all, 44 employees were immediately impacted by the change, with 56% of the affected individuals working as hospice and home care aides.
