Meet Louie, the EveryStep Therapy Dog

EveryStep’s therapy dog-in-training, Louie, has been making great progress with his training classes as he continues his journey to become a certified therapy dog.

Louie spent three weeks at the Adelhorst Kennels with our trainer Anna Childs in March to brush up on his skills and help him overcome some fear he had of loud noises. Louie’s caretaker, Annie Harmeyer, said, “Louie is doing amazing since coming home from training. His confidence has grown immensely, he’s practicing and growing his skills, and he loves being at Bright Kavanagh, seeing his old friends and meeting new ones.”

More than 50 suggestions for Louie’s Instagram handle were submitted and “@PawswithLouie” was chosen. The Foundation entered all those who submitted suggestions into the raffle; congratulations to Mt. Pleasant’s Katie Smith, who won a $100 Amazon gift card. Louie has three upcoming photo shoots to build a library of photos for his Instagram account, which we hope to launch in May.
