Meet EveryStep Council Bluffs Hospice Team Director Jenn Henry

EveryStep is pleased to announce the appointment of Jenn Henry as team director of EveryStep Hospice in Council Bluffs.  An RN for 14 years, Jenn recently obtained her bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Jenn began her career as an inpatient nurse in oncology, hematology and hospice. She then moved into office nursing, working in gastroenterology, administering biologic infusions, providing disease process and medication education, and participating in research studies. She most recently spent nearly eight years working in critical care.

“I absolutely love working in acute care, but truly felt drawn to hospice,” said Jenn.

Jenn says she was interested in EveryStep because it goes the extra mile for those it serves. “Hearing the special things EveryStep is able to do for people in the community because of the EveryStep Foundation and other sources, as well as the drive to always do better, to always provide the best care possible, made me want to work at EveryStep. The organization is inspiring and I knew after my very first interview, it was the place for me.”

A native of Arkansas, Jenn grew up in a small town and in 2009 met her husband, who is active duty in the Air Force. The Air Force took them to Alaska, where they spent eight years and had three children; they relocated to Washington State for four years and moved to Council Bluffs in 2021. “We have fallen in love with the Midwest lifestyle and the people here,” said Henry. “We hope to settle here for a long time.”

Increasing EveryStep’s presence in Council Bluffs is among Jenn’s goals. “I hope to grow our little office in Council Bluffs to something amazing,” said Jenn. “But as we grow, we never lose the great care we provide.”
