Seven New Members Appointed to Board of Directors

EveryStep, one of Iowa’s largest nonprofit health care and human services organizations, is pleased to announce the appointment of Juan Carlos Cadenillas, Ed Cox, Mike Gehringer, Jon Lefrandt, Lindsay Racey, CoraLynn Trewet and Missy Walter to EveryStep’s Board of Directors.

Originally from Lima, Peru, Ed moved to Iowa and obtained master’s level degrees at Iowa State University (journalism and mass communication) and Des Moines University (public health). His professional experience includes several projects for private, non-profit and government programs. Mr. Cadenillas is a public health planner with the Polk County Health Department.

Ed Cox is an attorney at Craver, Grothe & Cox, LLP in Centerville. Prior to private practice, Ed worked at the Drake Agricultural Law Center where he focused on beginning farmer and veteran farmer policies and programs. Ed received a Bachelor of Science degree from Missouri State University and his J.D. from Drake University Law School with a certificate in food and agricultural law.

Mike Gehringer is vice president, customer operations, at MidAmerican Energy Company. He graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology. Prior to joining MidAmerican Energy, Gehringer worked at various companies performing environmental, health and safety work. In 2001, he joined MidAmerican Energy as a safety supervisor and was a part of the safety organization for seven years. 

Jon Lefrandt graduated with a bachelor’s degree in advertising communications from Brigham Young University  and a master’s in real estate development from the University of Utah. He co-founded The Domani Group in 2018 with a vision to help funeral homes across the country improve their operations and grow their businesses. He has a passion for innovation and technology and has brought both to the forefront of the funeral profession through The Domani Group’s suite of services and businesses.

Lindsay Racey serves as a staff vice president and general manager for CareMore Health. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Iowa and a master’s in management with an emphasis in healthcare management from Kaplan University. Prior to her to time at CareMore, Lindsay gained 15 years of experience as a senior leader in the nonprofit health care industry.

CoraLynn Trewet is a pharmacist by training and currently serves as a senior medical science liaison at Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS), focusing on cardiology. She attended Drake University, graduating with her Doctor of Pharmacy degree and then completed a specialty residency and obtained a master’s degree from the University of Kansas. 

Melissa Walter (Missy) started her healthcare career at Clarinda Regional Health Center as an accountant in 2003. She has served as chief financial officer at Decatur County Hospital and Clarinda Regional Health Center and since 2019, as CFO of Ringgold County Hospital. Melissa obtained her bachelor’s degree in finance and insurance from Drake University and holds a master’s degree in accounting and financial management from DeVry University/Keller Graduate School of Management.
